This year marks 11 years in
business for the Mattress Warehouse
of DeKalb, a locally owned
family company. Visit this retail
store in DeKalb, at 1224 E. Lincoln
Highway (across from the Moose
Club and behind Star Worlds
Arcade). The showrooms are
open to the public six days a
week: Monday, Wednesday,
Thursday and Friday, from 11 a.m.
to 8 p.m.; Saturday from 11 a.m. to
6 p.m.; and Sunday from noon to 5
p.m. It is closed on Tuesdays.
“In 2000, we found an old 1920s
brick warehouse that was kind of
off the beaten path on DeKalb’s
east side,” said owner Mike Kisluk.
“We had the idea of establishing a
store with very low overhead so
that families could afford good
quality mattresses. We started
with just five mattresses in a
showroom so tiny you could hardly
turn around. But the support
from the community was so
incredible that we expanded our
